Edward Hadley and Briggs Dixson secured a defense verdict for an otolaryngologist and his practice following a six-day jury trial in Dickson County, Tennessee on March 4, 2024. The Plaintiff was seeking at least $2.5 million in damages based on an alleged failure to obtain informed consent and allegations that a sinus surgery was negligently performed. The defense successfully excluded all evidence of medical expenses during Plaintiff’s case-in-chief, and then focused on the excellent care provided by the otolaryngologist to establish the lack of any negligence and that the Plaintiff experienced only known complications from sinus surgery.
