Porter v. Vissers, Edward A. Hadley

In October 2018, Edward A. Hadley obtained a defense verdict after a five day jury trial in favor an orthopedic surgeon who was accused of negligently injuring an artery during a partial shoulder replacement surgery. The patient alleged that the surgeon negligently injured a branch vessel and that the ligation of the branch vessel caused a subsequent occlusion of the axillary artery requiring grafting and bypass. The jury found that the surgeon complied with the standard of care. The patient did not file a motion for new trial or appeal the verdict.
